JV Boys Soccer Defeats Kingston

Rhinebeck Hawks JV Boys Soccer secured a hard fought and physical victory against the Kingston Tigers, with a final score of 1-0. This was Rhinebeck’s 4th win of the season with an overall record of 4-1. From the first whistle Rhinebeck set the tone, dominating possession and dictating the pace of the game. For the first 20 minutes, the midfielders created numerous chances for the attackers, keeping Kingston on the defensive. The breakthrough finally came in the 21st minute as Joaquim Azevedo skillfully dribbled past two defenders, and outpaced another which ended with him running through on goal leaving the goalie with no chance as he placed the ball in the top right corner. After a quick team celebration it was right back to play. Kingston ramped up their efforts after conceding the goal, showing their grit and determination, while also getting more physical and testing Rhinebeck’s defense with dangerous attacks. However, Rhinebeck’s defensive line held strong with phenomenal performances from Maclain Kelly, Kamyar Kemp, Neil Murray, and Hunter North, as well as a great goalkeeping from Cody Martin. Although Kingston put up a great fight, the final whistle blew with Rhinebeck emerging victorious at 1-0.
