Another strong performance by the entire Hawks team resulted in a thrilling 4-3 victory over a resilient Ellenville Blue Devils side. Brilliant goals in the 12th and 35th minutes by two of our strikers along with defensive poise and solid goalkeeping gave us a 2-0 lead at halftime. In the 41st minute Ellenville scored to cut our lead in half, but we quickly responded in the 46th minute when a well-timed through ball resulted in a well-placed strike that found the back of the net to put us up 3-1. The gritty Ellenville side would not give up and added a second goal soon after, cutting our lead to 3-2, but the Blue Devils conceded an own goal (on an inspired cross by one of our wings) in the 71st minute, which proved to be the game winner. Throughout the match our defensive play and possession in the midfield were excellent, and we created many chances on attack, ending with 16 shots on goal in all. A well-deserved win.
