Modified Boys Soccer Defeats Pine Plains

The Rhinebeck boys modified soccer team recorded their second win of the season with a commanding 7-0 victory over a gritty Pine Plains Bombers side. The Hawks came out strong, nearly scoring in the first minute before finding the back of the net in the second minute. Other first half goals in the 8th and 11th minutes along with a gutsy, athletic save by the Hawks’ keeper put Rhinebeck up 3-0 at halftime. In the second half, Pine Plains tested the Hawks defense with several inspired attacking runs, but the Hawks’ back line held strong, denying the Bombers any significant scoring chances. Meanwhile, the Hawks’ smart, creative midfield play and relentless attack resulted in four second-half goals. Overall, six different players found the back of the net and the Hawks had 18 shots on goal. Another great effort by the entire Hawks team. Next up is an away match at Webutuck on Tuesday, October 15.
