The Rhinebeck modified boys soccer team got back in the win column on Wednesday with a 9-1 victory over the Pine Plains Bombers. In their penultimate home match of the season, the Hawks came out strong, creating several scoring chances in the opening minutes of the first half before breaking through in the 9th minute to go up 1-0. Six additional well-earned goals followed and the Hawks took a 7-1 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Hawks kept the pressure on the Bombers and found the back of the net two more times before time expired. Overall, the Hawks had 10 shots on goal, six different players scored, and the Hawks’ keepers made a combined five saves. Next up is an away match vs. Highland on October 30th and a home match to finish the season vs. Ellenville on November 1st.
