The Rhinebeck boys modified soccer team played a formidable Dover Dragons side to a 1-1 draw at home on Thursday. The Hawks struck first, finding the back of the net in the 9th minute, as a well-timed pass led to a brilliant strike over the head of the Dragon’s keeper. The Dragons responded less than two minutes later, a long cross leading to a tap-in goal that tied the score at 1-1. The Hawks and Dragons both created many chances throughout the rest of the match, but neither side could find the back of the net a second time. Overall, it was a hard fought, physical contest on both sides, with the Hawks’ gritty goalkeeping and gutsy defensive play helping to earn the draw.
