Rhinebeck cross country traveled to Saugerties High School to compete in the Lombardo Invitational this past Saturday (10/9).
Highlighting the meet was an overall 2nd place finish by the Boys team with 66 points. Junior Joe Hagerty was the top finisher for Rhinebeck in 6th place with a time of 17:27. Junior Christian Cale also finished in the top 10 with a 9th place finish in 17:49. Sophomore Griffin Giles (16th, 18:15), and juniors Marc Hoffmann (19th, 18:22) and Manny Allen (21st, 18:39) rounded out team scoring. All five runners earned medals for finishing within the top 25.
Other finishers for Rhinebeck were Ryan Kappeller (39th, 20:46), Reagan Aierstok (49th, 22:27), Fredric Winham (52nd, 22:53), and Thomas Hewitt (53rd, 22:53).
On the girls’ side, Jillian Hanna was the sole Rhinebeck competitor. However, her 18th place finish in 25:55 also earned her a top 25 finisher medal.
